Nexus 6

Intro
Nexus, one of the most purest android phones out there. I like the Nexus devices because they are always so fast. It might be one of the most anticipated Nexus device of the year.

Design
The Nexus 6 looks like a moto x, only thing, it's bigger. The phone is made if plastic with a metal rim around it. At the front you'll see the two front facing speakers at the top and bottom. At the front right corner is the front facing camera and on the other side is were the sensors are and no notifications LED light, nothing else on the front other than the bigger screen. Around the back, it's curved. A rear camera with dual flash, the Motorola logo and the big silver Nexus sign in the middle. At the of the phone is were the charging port is located, the earphone jack and the sim card tray are both on the top of the device. In the middle of the right side is were the lock/power button and the volume rocker are placed which is good in the my opinion because size of the phone, they are pushed down a little for a better reach. The left side, nothing is there but the metal rim. The Nexus 6 is definitely bigger than the Nexus 5, mainly because of the screen. People with small hands are going to find is most difficult to use with one hand and people with bigger hands are probably going to be okay using it one handed, but, this device is not a one hand operated. For me, I love big phones because I watch a lot of videos, but I wouldn't want phones to get any bigger than what they are now. It would just be too hard to handle. The colors that are available for the Nexus 6 are midnight blue and cloud white.

Display
For the screen, the Nexus 6 has a 5.96 inches display, a 2560x1440 pixels, (493 ppi pixel density) AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colours. The screen is great. Viewing angles are good, it performs good outside in daylight and colors are vibrant, and watching videos are great. Oh, the display is also has a slight curve along the sides for when swiping from the edge with feel smoother; protecting the screen is gorilla glass 3 so you get a little protection, but it can still crack.

Camera
The Nexus 5 had a very slight update in camera from the one before, but the Nexus 6 is different. The Nexus 6 rear camera is 13MP with (OIS) optical image stabilization. Images taken with it are good, colours are vivid with details and good focal points. HDR does what it suppose to do and in low light, the camera performs okay. Sometimes when photos are taken in low light with the the dual flash, parts of it looks dark, but them you can use HDR or low light/night mode. Photos are really nice though. It shoots videos at 2160@30fps and 4K video is available and is also good. For the front facing camera, it is 2MP which takes decent photos in well lit areas. The camera interface is the google camera on the play store that you can download on other phones.

Software
For the software, the Nexus 6 ships with the latest OS of Android, which is Android lollipop (5.0). It is great, they added whole new material design. For the recent apps, it is like the google chrome tabs and you even see  your google chrome tabs in the recent apps which can make it a little cluttered. A new power saving mode is also added that when is turned on, both the bottom and top part of the screen turns red to let you know it is on, but can get annoying. When your phone is locked and you get a notification, you can see what it is about without unlocking the phone, and as well, you can swipe them away. Pulling down the notification bar once, you'll see your notifications in card view and dragging down the notification bar another time or tap the top will give you your quick toggles that looks different. Tapping on one of the toggles will bring you to the settings of what you tap on. Even though it doesn't have a notification LED, Google uses the ambient display to show notifications on the lock screen when you pick up the phone, but it's gimmicky. Screen pining is this new feature on Android lollipop that let's you only can use that app, for example; let's say someone wants to borrow your phone to make a call, you don't want the person to use nothing else other than the call app/dialer, all you have to do is turn on screen pining which is in security settings, go to the recent/multitasking screen, choose the app that you want to pin, tap on the icon that looks like a pin and it's pinned. When you want to undo it, all you have to do is tap and hold the back button and the multitasking/recent app button, and you're done. Browsing the interface, you'll see that it has some animations that are very smooth. You might find yourself tapping on things just for fun because of the animations.

Performance and battery life
Powering the Nexus 6 is a Qualcomm snapgragon 805, Adreno 420, and a Qual-core 2.7 GHz krait 450 CPU. Also is comes with 32GB for $649 (USD)  and 64GB $699 (USD) which is non expandable with 3GB of RAM. Having that said, the phone is very fast. It performs great. Playing games with huge storage space is good and going through the phone is just smooth. What's giving the juice to this device is a non-removable Li-Po 3220 mAh battery that is suppose to last you for the day with a full charge. However, if you need to charge it, Google packed it with turbo charging which is suppose to charge it faster than what the usual phone charges at.
