Samsung Galaxy S6 Review

Intro
Samsung has always been one of those companies that get some people saying their phone's build quality is not premium because it's made of plastic; I didn't really mind that though. With that being said Samsung released the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge with a different material for the build quality, and that's metal and glass.

Design
It has a metal rim right around the phone and glass at the back. At the front, it retains the Samsung aesthetics with the front camera and the sensors, and under the screen is the home/fingerpfrint scanner with the back and recent app keys. On the left side of the phone is the volume rocker that is separated, the right side is where the power/lock button and under is the sim card trey. On the top are the IR blaster and a mic and on the bottom is where the USB charging port, the earphone jack the speaker grill and beside that is another mic. Right around the glass back, is  where the camera sits along with the flash and heart rate monitor, and the Samsung logo beneath that. Now, because of the different design choices, the back is not removable so battery cannot be removed, the camera protrudes out quite a bit and memory can't be expanded. For the protruding camera, the risk of the glass that covers the lens is more prone to brake the glass has to be tough to resist some drops. The features that I have come to love about Samsung are gone and those are the removable battery and expandable memory. The color options arabout Samsung are gone and those are the removable battery and expandable memory. The color options are: black sapphire, blue topaz, gold platinum and white pearl.

Display
Samsung has always pride themselves in the display department, always packing the pixels in the screens and making them crisp. The S6 is rocking a 5.1" super AMOLED  with 1440 x 2560 pixels (577 ppi pixel density). Protecting all of that is gorilla glass 4 which is tougher than normal glass but it can still brake. Colors are bright and vivid. Text are crisp and it gets very bright, so it's good for when you're out doors which is really good. If you don't like how the colors are too saturated and want to tone it down. You can change it in the settings. This screen is beautiful hands down.

Camera
The primary camera, it has a 16MP (2988x5312 pixels) F1.9 aperture lens that's optically stabilized and shoots in 4k. Photos are clear, you see a lot of details. The colors are of course is a bit more saturated than normal but, they look great. In low light, the S6 still take photos pretty good. It is not that dark and has that much noise in those photos. 4k videos are really good, even when you're not steady handed, the OIS helps out a lot and can shoot in HDR as well.   There's a feature called pro mode that makes you have more control over your camera like: exposure, contrast etc; it's like a DSLR camera which I like because I like to have full control sometimes. If you want to snap a quick picture, you can double tap the home button to open the camera very fast (in seconds), even when the phone is locked. The front camera is 5MP with the F1.9 lens and can shoot in auto HDR. It is a wide angle lens so you can fit more in the frame. Also photos are really good.

Software
It is out of the box on 5.0.2 Android lollipop and the Touch Wiz UI on top. For Samsung, because of the heavy UI, that has always slow down the experience of the phone. Samsung removed some of the features that has always made the phone experience slow. It is still the same like the Galaxy S5. Not much has changed, the aesthetics is basically the same so if you're use to the Samsung's UI, the learning curve isn't going to be hard. You know how you could control the amount of time the light last on the capacitive keys? That feature is gone but, you can download an app to control it. If you don't like how the phone looks, you can always download a third party launcher to cover it on the play store. Samsung has joined in and gives you the option to download themes to change up the phone a little, even to change the amount of rows icons that are shown. You can also pay for things with your phone with Samsung Pay which uses the NFC.

Performance and battery life
The GS6 is running on the Exynos 7420, a quad-core 1.5GHz cortex- A53  and quad-core 2.1GHz Cortex A57 with a Mali-T760MP8 GPU. It has a 3GB of RAM with no expandable memory. The internal storage you'll get are 32/64/128GB. I'm glad they stop making 16GB for the lowest storage option because that's not enough. For the performance, it slides right through everything. Playing games, switching through apps, doing things like that is not a problem. Even with the 3GB of RAM, multitasking is a breeze. I like it when memory can be expanded and that's not available which can be something to adjust to an a Samsung phone. Also, because of the design changes, the battery is not removable and it's smaller than the Galaxy S5 at 2550 mAh. But, they make it up by allowing it to have fast charging and wireless charging capability.
