The Samsung Galaxy S5 is currently the latest flagship of Samsung. There are not much changes from the previous version (Galaxy S4) on the looks of the phone, but it's what the phone can do is most important. The Galaxy S5 has a 5.1 inches Super AMOLED display, a 0.1-inch bump in size compared with the S4. You get everything you may want in a display from this 1080p screen with a pixel density of 432 ppi, including crispness, color vibrancy, contrast, brightness, and viewing angles.
With the Galaxy S5 you get a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz, slightly faster than what is found in competing smartphones, backed by the Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Multitasking is a breeze with the change from the menu capacitive button to the resent app button.
With its ip67 certified, the Galaxy S5 is water and dust resistance. At the back of the phone right beside the camera flash, you will see a heart rate monitor that checks your heart beat when finger is placed on it and it takes advantage of the S health. Speaking of camera, the camera is one of the biggest additions to the Galaxy S5 with its new ISOCELL camera, an optic package that carries a 16 megapixels sensor fitted with a new technology that isolates each pixel from neighboring ones for higher quality photos. The camera also gives you live HDR, Live HDR gives you the option to see through the viewfinder the effect HDR would have on your shot and is useful if you’re not sure how HDR would affect the scene. When used right, this option can really help you enhance a photo that would otherwise turn out unusable; selective focus is a feature that focus on what you want and blurry out what you don't want.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is currently running on 4.4.2 Kitkat. Swiping to the left of the home screen will bring up my magazine which is similar to flipboard. As most people were looking for a drastic change in touchwiz, touchwiz doesn't have a huge change about it, it is only a little toned down and the settings of the phone has changed, and everything is now categorized.
The Galaxy S5 comes with a new feature called Download Booster which uses Wi-Fi and LTE (data service) that boosts the downloading speed for huge files. Another feature is the Ultra power saving mood, what this does is turns the phone black and white, with this if your battery is at 10% you can continue using your phone for another 24 hours, so you can have more time using the phone without worrying about the battery.
