The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is one of two new tables from Samsung and the other being the Galaxy tab S 8.4. What makes these tables similar is that they both have Super AMOLED display. The Tab S 10.5 is similar to the Galaxy S5 with the dimpled soft touch back, the changing of the left capacitive button from the options button to a resent apps button though you can still access the options by just holding down on the recent apps button. A front and rear camera with LED flash at the back. On both sides of the Tab (left and right) are the dual speakers, on the right hand side are the USB/charging port, the SD card slot and a micro simple card tray while on the top is were you'll find the power button and volume rocker. On the back are two circles, those are for the accessories for the tab. In addition to the two cases, Samsung built a wireless keyboard. It is attached by just resting the tablet on the keyboard without clipping anything and it comes off easily, also you can close the tab and the keyboard like a laptop.
At the back you get the 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, it is a good camera for a tablet but when shooting in an area that's not well lit, the photo will look noisy, but you do get that LED flash to give you light. For videos, it shoots 1920x1080 (1080p HD) (30 fps). As for the front facing camera is 2.1 megapixel for video chat and selfies.
As some of us come to love Samsung and it's over saturated super AMOLED displays which is a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution, 287 pixels per inch (ppi), which is a very sharp display. It has good viewing angles and more contrast with sharp colors.
Depending on your region, you’ll get either a Samsung Exynos 5 octo-core processor or a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM, a microSD card slot that supports up to 128GB, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and options for 16GB and 32GB of built-in storage. You shouldn't be worrying about playing large games and heavy usage with the tab. You also get Bluetooth 4.0 and an IR blaster with two features common to pretty much all Samsung tablets.
Powering the Tab S 10.5 is a 7,900mAh battery capacity that's good for an impressive 11 hours of video according to Samsung. You should get at least 3 days out of this device with moderate usage.
Out of the box you get Android 4.4.2 Kitkat with Samsung's heavily built Touchwiz UI over it. It is much like the Galaxy S5 with the new flatter and tone down Touchwiz. There is this new feature that is called SideSyic which you can use your phone remotely, basically you control your phone virtually.
