As some people were looking for a mini version of the surface pro, Microsoft have released a Surface pro 3, an even bigger device. On eBay right now you can get it for US $1,149.00 - US $2,349.00.
At a 1.76 pounds, it feels solid without being weighty. The obvious thing about the surface pro 3 is it's 12-inch screen. A resolution of 2,160 by 1,440 pixels, it looks bright and crisp. Colours looks good, text and graphics as well and it plays HD videos smooth.
The Surface Pro 3 included a Pen that provides accurate responsive pen input. Clicking its top opens OneNote, the company's cloud enabled note taking app, even while the device is asleep. The front speakers are smartly camouflaged by the touch screen's bezel and provide a rich sound. Don't expect way too much from the pro 2, it's just 45%, Microsoft claimed.
Microsoft stated the Surface Pro 3's battery will last for 9 hours while browsing the Web. Overall, performance of the Surface Pro 3 is snappy, at least on the Core i5 unit (an Intel i5-4300U processor) with a clocked speed of 1.9GHz (2.5GHz turbo), 8GB of internal flash storage and 256GB of internal storage.
Touch Cover, It's mechanical (non-touch) keys are larger and more accurate touchpad that makes the user feels comfortable. Instead of lying flat, the Touch Cover now comes with magnetically clips at the bottom bezel, providing a wrist-friendly typing angle on both flat surfaces and one's lap.
The Surface Pro 3 runs Windows 8.1 Pro, and so expertly. The problem you might find is that it will be constantly bouncing between the tile based "modern" UI and the classic desktop.
It is not a deal breaker, but the Windows 8.1 desktop, for all of Microsoft's progress, is much better navigated with a keyboard and a mouse. It's past also lingers, going to an inconsistent experience. Old school icons, dialog boxes and menus compete with newer UI elements.
