Intro
From Samsung, I always love the Note line and the Note 4 was one of Samsung's most anticipated device for this year. They are always being put to say how cheap their devices are because of them being made of plastic, so they added a metal rim around the Note 4 to show people they can make devices that look and feels premium.
Design
For the design, the Note 4 has a metal rim right around it with chamfered edges and slops at the four corners. At the top left side is the volume rocker, the top right side is where the power/lock button is located. The earphone jack is at the top left with a mic close by, and on the top right is where the IR blaster. Down at the bottom you'll find the charging port with two extra mics and the S pen is at the bottom right corner. Now, right at the back is the same as the Note 3 but without the fake leather stitching, the camera with the LED to the and the heart rate monitor; the Samsung logo below and farther down to the right corner is the speaker. Around the front is the 2.5D glass that curves along the sides. The top right corner is the front camera with the sensors close by, the front speaker for calling is at the middle with Samsung's logo under and over at the left side is the notification LED. Finally, down at the bottom in the center is the home button with a silver ring around it, and it also acts as a fingerprint scanner. On the left is the recent app capacitive button and on the right is another capacitive button that's a back button. Samsung was always being bashed for their phones looking cheap, but this design looks premium just because of the metal rim around it and it's not suppose to feel like it is going to slide out of your hand easily because it has a removable textured back cover. The S pen is like same from the one before with the silver top and the rest black, also the button.
Display
The Note 4's display is a 2.5D glass that is slightly raised and slopes down at the edges. It is a super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors, 1440x256 pixels, 5.7 inches (515 ppi pixel density) and it's gorilla glass 3. As what you would expect from Samsung with their displays, colors do pop and saturation is over what natural colors are suppose to look like but it is a beautiful display. For viewing angles, it's good, it doesn't look washed out and loses its colors.
Camera
The rear camera is 16MP (34 56x4608 pixels) with optical image stabilization (OIS). Picture quality is great, photos looks crisp, because of the OIS pictures will look sharp. So, for the people who doesn't have a steady hand when taking pictures the OIS will help you out in taking sharp photos. The same features from the previous version comes but with a new selfie mode. As for video recording, it shoots at 2160p@30fps, 1080@60fps, optical stabilization, dual video recording. 4K recording is possible that takes in a lot of details but takes up a lot of space. The front camera is a 3.7MP that shoots at 1080p@30fps with angle capture, you can even do a panorama. You can also use the fingerprint scanner to take photos.
Software
For the software, it is currently running Android 4.4.4 KitKat and on top of that is Samsung's TouchWiz UI with further enhancement for the S pen and multitasking. The S pen has the new feature to it that makes it like a mouse, as in you can select, let's say a group of texts or a bunch of photos. The S note too has a feature where you can take a picture at an angle and it can morphe to straighten it to edit it, like text and you can delete, add or move it around. That feature is good if you're in class, you can just capture the notes to edit it. For the multitasking, you get the multi window to interact with two apps at the same time or you can open up to 15 capable apps that can do multitask and can go into a bubble when you want it out of the way but not close it. From the recent app screen you can also launch the multitasking capable apps, plus, the same multitasking capable apps, you can drag downwards from the top corner to open a small window to multitask or you can put it in a bubble. TouchWiz is the same TouchWiz with its second screen when swipe from the home screen to the left it will bring up briefing, it is like floorboard. Still has all those features as well like air gesture... As for the S pen, it's like the previous version but now sense the amount of pressure you put on it when using it.
Performance and battery life
Running under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 (SM-N9105), Exynos 5433 (SM-N9106), a GPU with Andreno 420 (SM-N910S) Mali-1760 (SM-N910C) and 3GB of RAM, also 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via micro SD card. It can do a lot of of media consumption, multitasking without slowing down easily, performance should be fine. It is not a big difference with the 3,220mAh battery life from the previous version but it can last you at least for the day with one single charge.
